82nd Annual Zilker Park Kite Festival March 6, 2010

Hundreds of kites will dance in the sky at the annual Zilker park kite festival on the first Sunday in march. the event is FREE, everyone is welcome whether they fly a kite or just to see the hundreds of kites in the air. kite flying demonstrations will be held all day and delicious food of all kinds will be prepared fresh at the event. the kite flying competition is for single line kites and all ages are eligible to compete in categories for youth and adults. see our web page for events and rules. all kites entered must be home made. a children’s area full of games, face painters and over 10 moonwalks is a must see. proceeds from vendor sales go to local organizations working to break the cycle of child abuse. come on down and enjoy kite day, an event that is uniquely Austintatious. rain date is the second Sunday of march.
