Marc Woollard, Templin Brink Design

Marc Woollard will tell of his experience of rebranding Pangea Organics, a small, sustainable bodycare company, while working at innovation giant IDEO. He will present their team's challenges of articulating a brand story that is centered around sustainability and fair-trade, which was already embodied in the company's products and practices. This brand story was developed into a full identity system including sustainable packaging design for 35 products, a compostable bar soap box inspired by egg cartons and made from 100% post-consumer content, a point of purchase display, a product guidebook, and customer collateral. Pangea Organics' renewed retail presence quickly helped the company overcome its hurdles of reaching premium retailers like Whole Foods and Wild Oats and resulted in a tripling of sales in the first year.
