Collaboration 1.0 was about content on the Web (uploading photos, inviting friends, and posting to user groups). The next evolution of the web was interpersonal, and the application of Web 2.0 technologies to the enterprise is a hot topic currently. Today, online communities allow organizations to partner with their customers in a very interactive fashion. But there is resistance to these technologies within the enterprise, and often the problems are not really about the technology, but about people and process.

Wikipedia defines Collaboration as "a recursive process where two or more people or organizations work together toward an intersection of common goals." With over 1200 different tools and technologies with collaborative functionality, how does a distributed team or enterprise implement a true online collaborative environment...successfully?

At this month's TechCoire meeting, we are pleased to feature two of the greatest minds on Collaboration - David Coleman, Author of Collaboration 2.0 : Technology and Best Practices for Successful Collaboration in a Web 2.0 World, and Oliver Marks, Blogger on Collaboration on ZDNET Inc. These two thought leaders will provide and interactive and though provoking session and will address a variety of topics including:

What does Collaboration really mean in both the consumer and enterprise world?
What tools and technologies exist and what are some of the best practices?
What role does social networking and content management play in creating a collaborative environment in Enterprise 2.0?
What business processes can leverage collaboration?
Why is understanding "local context" so critical to successful team functioning?
Why do collaborative technologies provide such a great "green" opportunity?
What are the costs of collaboration in the enterprise, and who needs to be involved?
