Communit.as is an open source web application that provides a foundation for building custom community and social network sites. At long last, we're launching the beta version and we're having a party to celebrate. There will be snacks, drinks, a demo and a Q&A session with the developers. Come join us!

UPDATE: We've changed the date from Feburary 19th to February 26th so we don't conflict with Ignite Portland 5.

OpenStreetMap (http://openstreetmap.org) is an editable map of the whole world, which is being built largely from scratch using GPS traces, and released with an open content license.

Anyone can get involved in editing and adding to the map of any area, but this event is a coordinated effort to improve the map coverage around Stockwell (South London). We'll be surveying the streets to gather street names and other information, and then later meeting up in a pub for a little social gathering.

The advertised start time is 5:30, meeting at Stockwell tube station, but it doesn't really matter if you come along later. We'll be meeting in a pub at around 7:30. Pub details to be decided (see website)

Everyone's very welcome to come along, have a go at mapping some streets and/or meet us in the pub.
