Cedar Hill, Texas 75104

We had such a blast meeting new Flickr friends at today's inaugural meetup here in Dallas, that we have already scheduled the next one!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

The only rule is that you bring a fellow photographer! Not really, but the more the merrier!

WHEN:
Sunday, April 23, 2006, 2:00pm

WHERE:
The Penn Farm, Cedar Hill State Park, Cedar Hill, Texas...only 10 miles south of Dallas.

DIRECTIONS: Cedar Hill is located 10 miles southwest of Dallas, 4 miles southeast of Grand Prairie, and 3 miles west of Cedar Hill and is accessible via FM 1382. From US Highway 67 exit FM 1382, 2 1/2 miles north on the left. From Interstate 20 exit FM 1382, 4 miles south on the right (on the Joe Pool Reservoir). The park is skirted by FM 1382 and Mansfield Road.

WHY:
Why April 23rd? We're hoping to catch the full bloom of Texas wildflowers with the beautiful backdrop of the old buildings and rusty farm equipment of the old Penn Farm.

Why the Penn Farm? The farm has many great opportunities for macro shots also, such as barbed wire, gate latches, lots of wood beams and more! I call this location "...photography overload". There is something for every photographer at the Penn Farm! If the wildflowers are in bloom, the farm will knock your socks off!

HOW:
Enter the main gate of Cedar Hill State Park. There is currently a $5.00 per person entrance fee. After entering the gate, make the first left, and follow the signs to the Penn Farm. We will meet in the parking lot of the Penn Farm, to walk through the grounds together. Please try to be prompt. We will start walking at 2:15pm. Plan on a stay of at least 2 hours.
