Daryl Hall and John Oates, who formed their Philly soul partnership back in the early 1970s, became one of the leading rock 'n' roll groups of the 1980s with such hits as 'Maneater,' 'I Can't Go For That' and 'Kiss On My List.'

They're still alive?

Watching some recent performances on YouTube, Daryl Hall sounds pretty much the same as he always has, but Oates isn't doing much singing these days, leaving it to the rest of the backup band. The performances seem pretty lackluster, mostly because it's hard to make a song you've performed 15,000 times feel fresh.

Shit, if I wasn't going to see Rufus three days before and two days after, I'd be all over this.

VH1.com had a pretty good, comprehensive video playlist a few months back, that might well still be available. They even highlighted the rare video where Oates would sing lead (as opposed to giving his usual Norman Fell-esque camera mugs).

They're playing at the Palace of Fine Arts?!

My boyfriend surprised me that day, and told me we were going to see Hall and Oates, at The Palace of Fine Arts. We thought they put on an excellent show, 3 encores and they still sound hella good! I really liked their "SOUL-PHILLY" sounding rendition of "What's Going On" and "Hot Fun in The Summertime"
