We've got a major speaker for Andersonville Meetup next Tuesday (1/10, 7pm) at the Hopleaf (5148 N. Clark). Julie Sweet, Midwest Director of People for the American Way is coming to speak!
People for the American Way is one of the preeminent organizations opposing, among other things, the radical rightwing takeover of our Judiciary. How more appropriate then in the first week of Samuel Alito's hearings to have someone like Julie talk about the implications of such a nomination and what we can do to oppose it.
In addition, we'll also have a variety of announcements and activities. This is sure to be an extremely rewarding time. So hope to see you there!
Independent grassroots event with a thoughtful, engaging program. We work to feature interesting local speakers and meaningful discussions. Learn what activist groups all over the Chicagoland area are doing and how you can get involved.
