I went to a show of theirs in Minneapolis earlier this year. I became an official "Concert Crier" at that show. Blew my mind.

I love them. Anyone want to go? I hate going alone.

I can't believe My Brightest Diamond is opening! I love Shara Worden. She opens for and plays with Sufjan Stevens and is also amazing. One of the Top 10 cds this year and mesmerizing in concert.

Does anyone know if they are more mellow in concert, or really rock out?

I'm deciding if I should pound rum & cokes before the concert or sip wine...

Opener MBD is more mellow, except for a few songs. But she's mesmerizing. Devotchka is high-energy with sing-alongs, from what I hear. You may also cry. Look for me and we'll do some R&C. I'll probably wear my blue Illinoise shirt.

From what I recall, they're pretty high energy. A lot of people dancing and jumping. They have a really intense connection with the crowed. They have their mellow moments, but overall, the ups and downs are very effective. And yes, you may cry. But seriously, who doesn't want to cry during How It Ends?

That show kicked ass.....

We had the best time. I almost liked My Brightest Diamond better. But the whole night was great. We were towards the middle. I hope to get some pix up soon. Where were the rum and cokes, daneypoo?

Yeah, I got there late (drinking martinis at Dunlay's). I was on the lookout for the Sufjan shirt, but once I found a good spot I didn't do much wandering. I was on the right a little towards the front. Good thing my camera has a zoom...
