Evergreen Enduro Mountain Bike Race at Tiger Mountain September 22, 2012

First-ever mountain bike race on East Tiger Mountain - The Evergreen Enduro at Tiger - brought to you by Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance!

The Enduro race will include three timed downhill sections and two untimed uphill sections over a course that includes all open mountain bike trails on East Tiger Mountain. Racers will be divided into Pro/Open, Sport and Novice categories with age groups ranging from teens to masters.

Racers meet at the East Tiger Mountain Pass Summit parking lot off Hwy 18. Race to start at 10:00AM and includes cash prizes for pros, an after-party with refreshments, food and a raffle with killer prizes from our sponsors including: Diamondback Bicycles, Shimano, Platypus, FSA, and a variety of local bike shops.

What is Enduro Racing?

Enduro racing is a relatively new format for mountain bike racing in the U.S. though it has been popular in Europe for many years. It is a stage-race with both timed (typically descending) and untimed connector sections (typically ascending) covering a variety of cross-country or all-mountain style trail sections.

The winner is the rider with the lowest combined time from the various timed sections. While a rider's time on the connector sections doesn't affect his or her final time, these sections do typically have maximum time limit for completion.

Enduro races can be ridden on the average cross-country or all-mountain bicycle, requiring little to no investment in new gear.
