The de Young hosts the ultimate Bay Area party this Friday, August 3, when the Museum teams with the Guardian to honor the winners of this year’s Best of the Bay Awards. Don’t miss a musical performance by Rupa and the April Fishes, who mix sounds from the Far East, Europe, Latin America, and the U.S., with special guest Marcus Shelby. The infamous DJs of the KUSF (90.3 FM) hip-hop mix show Beatsauce (J-Boogie, Wisdom, and Raw B) will also fill Wilsey Court with music. In a co-presentation with NoisePop, the Guardian presents the work of noted Bay Area rock music photographer, Peter Ellenby. Enjoy great music, cocktails, food, and art at this unforgettable party at the de Young. The entire museum and the two special exhibitions, Hiroshi Sugimoto and Nan Kempner: American Chic, stay open until 8:45 pm.

Regular museum admission prices apply on Friday nights. Admission includes access to all festivities including live music and interactive art projects.
