Nine images by San Francisco photographer Mel Solomon will be included in the Gallery 28 Annual Competition and Exhibition group show opening in early July.

His "Tunisia Series" was selected by Gallery Director Ethel Jimenez as one of the competition winners for the upcoming show which will also include the work of 11 other artists from the Bay Area.

Mr. Solomon is noted for his camera work in countries throughout Africa, Europe, Central America, and Russia where he has traveled extensively during the past 20 years. More recently, his work has been directed toward images reflecting the beauty of the East and West coasts of the United States and has work-in-progress on a special series entitled "The Beauty of an Old Vermont Barn".
