HarvestFest at Harbourfront Centre is back! This fun family event brings the country to the city and celebrates the fall harvest in a truly global way.

Music will include foot tapping Celtic fiddlers Fig for A Kiss and Gypsy Jazz strummers Club Django. Two terrific folkloric dance companies - Ire Omo Afro-Cuban Drum and Dance Company, and Folkorica Filipino - will be presenting dances from their communities for Harvest Dances from around the Globe. And an exhibition of traditional and contemporary quilts from the Waterloo County and Area Quilt Festival will be on loan from their permanent collection all weekend.

The amazingly popular family activities and games include the highlight of last year’s festival — the Great HarvestFest Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest, hosted by Comedienne Tricia Williams. Other olde time country fair contests include the ZOOM! HarvestFest Olympics, featuring events like the Great Pumpkin Race, bean relay race, watermelon seed spitting contest and apple eating contest.
