The best-selling Israeli artist of all time, known simply as Rita, is performing at Stanford University's Dinkelspiel Auditorium on Saturday, November 3 as part of her west coast tour. Kicking off in Los Angeles, the tour celebrates her latest album My Joys which features songs sung in Pharsi from her native country of Iran. The Palo Alto performance is being presented by the Israeli Cultural Connection (ICC) at the Oshman Family JCC (OFJCC) together with the Taube Center for Jewish Studies at Stanford University with support of the Shenson Art Fund and Hillel at Stanford.

My Joys has an original and engaging sound which has proved an immediate hit with her fans around the globe. The fact that it's sung in Pharsi is significant, since it illustrates both her deep connection to her Persian roots and her commitment to delivering a message of peace in light of the current political climate. Rita's unusual success and popularity in Iran has garnered worldwide media attention. Her story was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal (Iran and Israel Can Agree on This) and on PRI's The World (Rita Brings Persian Music to Israel).

Presented by ICC@OFJCC, Hillel at Stanford, the Taube Center for Jewish Studies at Stanford University with support of the Shenson Art Fund. Generously supported by Dr. Avi Katz, The Israel Center of the Jewish Community Federation, The Haifa - SF Twin Cities, Consulate General of Israel, Oren's Hummus and Ayelet Nuchi.
