Temple B'nai Torah Invites Community to Free Concert
Featuring Foremost Pianist Jon Simon

Bellevue's Temple B'nai Torah is pleased to invite the community to "Jon Simon - In Concert," an hour-long concert featuring a selection of his jazz interpretations from the Jewish heritage. Jon Simon's solo piano repertoire includes traditional melodies and well-known folk songs as well as classic songs from the Jewish stage and screen.

The concert, part of the synagogue's Cultural Arts Series, will be held Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 7:00pm at Temple B'nai Torah, 14727 NE 4th Street, Bellevue.

An award winning pianist, recording artist and composer, Mr. Simon has appeared numerous times at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, performed at the US Senate, at the Israeli Embassy, and at one of President Clinton's inaugural balls, in addition to touring concert halls, synagogues, and community centers throughout North America. He divides his time between composing and performing his works for ensembles and solo piano and serving as a senior executive and consultant to a variety ofᅠcompanies throughout the United States.

Admission to the concert is free and open to the public, made possible through the Hermine Pruzan Endowment Fund. At-will donations will be gratefully accepted and directed to the Norm Greenbaum Campership Fund, which provides financial assistance to children and teens wishing to attend Jewish summer camps and leadership retreats.

"We are very fortunate to have Jon Simon perform for us and the community," said Steve Katz, Co-president of the synagogue. "Jon's extraordinary jazz interpretations bring a freshness to classic Jewish tunes we all know and love, and we are pleased to be able to invite the public to share this evening with us. We know everyone will enjoy the concert."
