Join hundreds of your neighbors for a community-wide day of "tikkun olam" (repair of the world) as part of a national day of service to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Whether you come on your own or with your family and friends, this fun and inspirational day will leave you feeling accomplished and energized!

Mitzvah Day will feature a range of hands-on service projects for people of all ages. Participants will work in small groups on projects addressing issues of poverty, hunger, housing and homelessness, aging, the environment and more. We offer 25 service projects to choose from including crafts for hospitalized children, cooking & serving meals at shelters, habitat restorations & tree planting, visits with seniors, making cat toys & dog biscuits for homeless animals and much more.

Check-in at the OFJCC in Palo Alto will be open between the hours of 7:30-10:00 AM. Please plan to arrive approximately 30-45 minutes before your project begins. Pick up your free OFJCC's Fitness Center guest pass and grab a bagel, coffee or juice on your way out! PLEASE NOTE: Pre-registration is required and space is limited in each service project.
