Clerestory, the Bay Area's acclaimed ten-man vocal ensemble, presents Northern Lights, an a cappella concert of holiday music from Scandinavia. From a rollicking, traditional Lapland "yoik" to harmonies that evoke the serene chill of the Winter Solstice, Clerestory presents holiday tunes from Sweden, Norway, Finland and more to greet the season.

"Northern Lights: A Clerestory Christmas" will be performed Saturday, December 1, 8:00pm at St. Mark's Church in Berkeley and Sunday, December 2, 8:00pm at St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco.

Clerestory's 2012-13 season continues with Bacchanalia in March 2013. The group also will perform at Chanticleer's 35th Anniversary Celebration on March 22, 2013 at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

ABOUT CLERESTORY
Clerestory's singers, from countertenor to bass, are professional veterans of San Francisco's finest vocal groups, including Chanticleer, Philharmonia Baroque, American Bach Soloists and others. Since its founding in 2006, Clerestory has performed across the Bay Area, including regular concerts in San Francisco, Berkeley, and Palo Alto, along with appearances in Sonoma, Santa Cruz and Lodi. The ensemble has been featured on National Public Radio and on San Francisco's KDFC and KALW's VoiceBox. Clerestory's concert recordings are available for free listening or download at http://www.clerestory.org/music. Clerestory is named for cathedral windows that let in daylight; the group tells the "clear story" of music through sophisticated performances grounded in decades of experience singing together.
