Seattle Design District Association sidewalk sale September 17, 2011

The Seattle Design District Association (SDDA) is planning a sidewalk sale to feature designer home furnishings from more than 40 businesses, including neighborhood wholesalers and retailers, and interior designers.

Customers can purchase directly from these firms, many of whom may normally sell only to the interior design trade, and a local delivery company will be on hand to organize delivery of any large furniture items. To create a dynamic, market-like atmosphere, the event will also include food and espresso vendors, and live entertainment.

The event will feature a fund raising effort, with a portion of proceeds benefitting Seattle Children's Playgarden-a space where children of all abilities can play outdoors and stretch their imaginations and independence: kids on two feet, kids with walkers, kids in wheelchairs, kids who communicate differently. Attendees can visit the Seattle Children's Playgarden booth to learn more about the organization and to participate in hands-on activities or projects.

The Sidewalk Sale is Saturday, September 17 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in parking lots on the corner of 6th Avenue and Orcas Street. Just a year since its formation, the association claims more than 35 members from the architectural and design community based in the Georgetown neighborhood.
