Women in Stepfamilies - a step by step program for happier stepping

Los Alamitos, - Local Marriage and Family Therapist Yaffa Balsam, LMFT will launch a four week interactive educational program, Women in Stepfamilies.

Ms. Balsam offers over twenty years of experience working successfully with stepmothers, and remarried couples with children, and has designed an exceptional program for women that addresses core issues blocking them and their families from connecting with one another in a more meaningful way.

Intrusive exes, guilt ridden husbands, and out of control children often cause monumental problems to the process of integrating families in general, and to stepmothers in particular. The program addresses these issues and offers practical tools to help women balance their marital and parental relationships. "Stepmothers are often frustrated with their husbands' expectation of them to 'act' as a biological mother, but be 'mute' when parental decisions are made" stated Balsam.

The program will cover topics such as:

Bringing romance back to the marriage
Self care amidst chaos
Co-parenting effectively with exes and present spouses
Communication and conflict resolution skills
Unrealistic expectations of the stepfamily
Creating a winning vision for women and their families

Ms. Balsam is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Los Alamitos, California. She specializes in helping stepfamilies become joyous and happy through education and therapeutic interventions. She is a former president and board member of The Stepfamily Association of America, Los Angeles Chapter. She developed and facilitated many psycho-educational workshops for stepfamilies for over 20 years.
